Manchester City vs Chelsea

You can see our preview of this match and 4 other games to watch this weekend by clicking this link.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

Crystal Palace have now gone 7 games without a win after their loss last weekend to Swansea in that absolute thriller.  Of course they are looking to end this today when they welcome visitors Southampton to Selhurst Park.  Last week Palace came extremely close to beating Swansea in the 9 goal thriller that saw them lose in the dying minutes of the game.  That defeat put them just above the drop zone joint on points with strugglers Hull, manager Alan Pardew is under significant pressure with Palace losing all of their last 6 games.  Southampton will be looking to carry on good form after their 2-0 win over Arsenal in the week in the EFL Cup Quarter Finals and a 1-0 win over former manager Ronald Koeman’s Everton side.

Prediction: I see Palace’s poor form continuing and Southampton to come away with another win.  Southampton have the momentum after 2 good results over the last week and they will look to carry it on. 3-0 Southampton.

Stoke City vs Burnley

Stoke picked up the 3 points against Watford last week ending their 2 game winless streak. Although they won, their performance was unimpressive performance with the winner coming from an own goal by Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.  Before last weeks win, they had gone 2 games without winning, with a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth and a 1-1 draw with the Hammers.  Burnley on the other hand were handed defeat although they really deserved more thanks to a great goal through Dean Marney.  However the 3 points were taken from them after 2 poachers goals by super striker Sergio Aguero.  Both teams will be going into the match wanting a win, to increase team confidence and to put them in a better position come the end of the season.

Prediction: The Britannia is always a difficult stadium for any team to come to and win and I think that Stoke will put in a good performance there to see off Burnley despite a good Burnley performance in what I think could be a close match. 1-0 Stoke City.

Sunderland vs Leicester City

Sunderland played well for the majority of their game last week against Liverpool despite bowing out to a late 2-0 defeat to them.  Of course a defeat was expected from a Liverpool side who are on top form as of late, however Sunderland has many positives i’m sure he can take from the match.  Before the match against Liverpool they were on a 2 game winning streak and were looking strong, after a 3-0 win over Hull and a narrow 2-1 win over Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.  However they still remain in the usual position for this stage of a premier league season… bottom.  Could this be the season we finally see the Black Cats go down??  Last seasons champions Leicester were rescued last weekend in their fixture against Middlesborough by a late goal by Slimiani.  They went behind twice through Alavaro Negredo and got back on level terms through 2 penalties.  Leicester have only managed 1 win in their last 8 games so it certainly seems like they aren’t on course to regain their Premier League crown with them currently being in 14th place and 2 points above the drop zone.

Prediction: I think Leicester could come to the Stadium of Light this afternoon and pickup a win against Sunderland, they really do need a win to show that although they may not win the league this year, they can still secure a good league position for their fans.  2-0 Leicester.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea City

Tottenham finally lost their unbeaten run this season in their match last week against league leaders Chelsea.  They will look to get back on course with a win against relegation threatened Swansea who come into this match off the back of a spectacular 5-4 win over fellow relegation candidates Crystal Palace.  Spurs’ form despite their unbeaten run is poor with them only picking up a win in one of their last 10 competitive matches.  They are currently at 5th in the table and must improve greatly if they are going to get another top 4 finish this year.  Swansea currently find themselves at 19th in the table however if they pick up a win over Spurs they could move out of the relegation zone.  Their win over Crystal Palace last weekend was only their 2nd win of the season, their only other win was against Burnley on the first game of the season.

Prediction: Spurs will want to get back on good form and with the quality in their side, they should be able to easily see off Swansea. 3-0 Spurs.

West Bromwich Albion vs Watford

West Brom and Watford can both stay in the top half of the table with a win in their face off at the Hawthorns today.  West Brom currently find themselves in 9th position in the table with 17 points to their name.  In their last 3 Premier League games they have picked up 2 wins and a draw, the draw coming last weekend against strugglers Hull City.  Watford on the other hand.  Watford find them in 8th position above West Brom, with a points tally of 18.  They were unlucky last week with an unfortunate defeat to Stock City, despite playing well.

Prediction:  West Bromwich Albion I think will overcome Watford in this game, with them having the home advantage over Watford a better record between the 2 in their last few games.  West Brom are on better form in this years campaign so far compared to Watford, so we should them pick up the win. 1-0.

West Ham United vs Arsenal

Both teams were defeated in their EFL Cup Quarter Finals Arsenal losing 2-0 to Southampton and West Ham losing 4-1 to Manchester United, both will look to make their fans happy again with a win.  West Ham saw the goals starting to flood in after 2 minutes from the start of the match, so its fair to say they have a leaky defence right now and it could be taken advantage of by Arsenal on the day.  However West Ham will look to make amends and add another win onto their unbeaten home run so far this season.  Arsenal on the other hand will be coming into the match with something to prove after their midweek loss to Southampton and will look to put on a similar performance to how they played against Bournemouth in their 3-1 win there last weekend.  Arsenal so far this season are yet to lose a game away from home and Arsene Wenger will look to carry on this form when they visit West Ham’s new London stadium for the first time on Saturday.

Prediction: I can see Arsenal picking up an away win in what I think will be a close match.  West Ham will be looking to come back to good form to push them up the table like last season, however this may not be enough for them and I could see them losing to a last minute goal by Arsenal.  3-2 Arsenal.

Sunday 4th December 2016

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Bournemouth are looking for their first home win in 3 home league games with some inconsistent form as of late.  Bournemouth come into the match with only 1 win in their last 5 games and their current form sees them in 12th place with 15 points, only 4 points above the drop zone.  Liverpool have only missed out on the 3 points twice in their last 11 league games.  Klopp’s side have had a great start to the season with their only loss this season coming on the second game of the season against Burnley.  Liverpool go into this match with a 15 game unbeaten run and 5 games away from home unbeaten.  They currently sit in 2nd place with 30 points, 1 point behind the league leaders Chelsea.

Prediction: Liverpool will pick up a comfortable win on Sunday over Bournemouth. 4-0 Liverpool.

Everton vs Manchester United

To cap off the weekend we can enjoy Everton and Manchester United facing off at Goodison Park.  Everton are in real need to turnaround their fortunes after a loss last weekend to Southampton their manager Ronald Koeman’s former side.  Everton did start this season with a great run originally, going 5 games unbeaten.  However their poor run started on match day 6 against Bournemouth.  Everton are now without a win in 7 out of their last 8 games.  Their poor form has seen them slip down to 7th in the league.  Mourinho’s United are still finding life hard.  Last weekend they picked up a draw against the Hammers, a match that also saw Jose Mourinho sent off after kicking a water bottle due to Paul Pogba being handed a yellow card for diving and United will be without him again in Sunday’s match due to his pitch side conduct..  They have only seen themselves win once in the last 7 Premier League games.  However they did pick up a thumping win on Wednesday over West Ham in the EFL Cup quarter final, could it be a move back to good form for them?  United currently find themselves in 6th place with 20 points to their name 1 point above their opponents Everton.

Prediction:  I think Manchester United, may finally be able to pick up another win this season after renewed confidence in their side, thanks to big win on Wednesday night.  I think they will have momentum going into the match and they should be able to carry it on despite being away from home in the match.  3-1 Manchester United.
