Osasuna vs Barcelona (12:00pm)

Osasuna are certainly not having a goo season so far with only 1 win from all 14 of the league matches so far this season, therefore seeing them at rock bottom of the table in La Liga with only 7 points.  Last weekend, Sporting Gijon saw off Osasuna 3-1 which spelt Osasuna’s fourth defeat in a row.  Barcelona are coming into this match off the back of three consecutive draws in their last few matches.  They were denied a victory in El Classico last weekend, however their 2 previous draws came against the likes of Real Sociedad and Malaga.  The gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona has now come to a 6 point gap and the gap between Barcelona are looking to close that gap to bring them closer to a La Liga title come the end of the season.

Prediction:  Barcelona will look to return back to good form with a strong away win over bottom of the table Osasuna, we see this match ending up with a 3-0 victory for Barcelona.

Real Sociedad vs Valencia (15:15pm)

Real Sociedad ended up getting destroyed last weekend by La Liga strugglers Deportivo La Coruna 5-1.  This was a rather disappointing for them considering they had earned a draw against Barcelona.  Real Sociedad had their 5 match winning streak in the league ended, however they still see themselves as 6th in La Liga with 23 points to their name.  Valencia are continuing their struggle and haven’t won in their previous 6 league games.  Their last match was a 2-2 draw with Malaga last weekend, adding up their total in their last 6 matches to 3 draws and 3 losses.  They have won only 3 times in the league this season 2 of which came away from home which could spell them good seen as this fixture is away from home.

Prediction: I see this match ending up as a draw between the 2 Spanish sides, both of which had a poor result last weekend and will look to bring some momentum back into their campaign. 1-1.

Las Palmas vs Leganes (17:30pm)

Las Palmas are enjoying another good campaign in La Liga and see themselves in 10th place with 20 points from 14 matches.  Their success has been built on a strong form at their home ground where in 7 matches with 4 wins and 3 draws.  However their away form has been different with them not registering a win in their last 6 away fixtures.  Leganes are currently sitting 15th in La Liga with 2 points setting them above the relegation zone.  It’s fair to say that their goal this season is to stay in La Liga for as long as possible aka. beyond this season.  However unfortunately their form needs to drastically improve for them to play La Liga football again next season.  Last weekend Villarreal were held to a goalless draw, this has left them with 1 win a draw in their last 7.  Furthermore they have failed to score any goals in 5 of their last 6 league games.

Prediction:  Las Palmas should easily see off Leganes in this fixture, they have great home form and will look to continue it, 2-0 Las Palmas.

Real Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruna (19:45pm)

Real madrid achieved a fair result against arch enemies Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season last weekend.  That match saw Real Madrid dominate the first half of the match until the 2nd half when Suarez but Barca ahead.  Sergio Ramos kept Real Madrid in the game and picked them up a result in the dying seconds of the game.  Zidane’s Madrid however hold a 6 point lead over their rivals Barca.  They are currently unbeaten in the league with 10 wins to their name and 4 draws from 14 matches.  Deportivo in their last match, destroyed Real Sociedad 5-1 at home to give them their first win in 7 games.  They had previously earn just 2 points from their previous 6, losing 4 of those matches.  They have only managed 3 wins from 14 this season and currently see themselves at 16th in the league, 1 place away from the relegation zone.

Prediction:  It’s pretty obvious the outcome of this fixture, the question is by how much they will win by, 4-0.

Eibar vs Alaves (11:00am)

Eibar have been an inconsistent side as of late and their last 6 games have been a real mixed bag of form.  In their last 6 they have won three, lost twice and drawn once.  This form has found them currently in 8th place with 21 points to their name, they are just 2 points in their current place away from Europa League places for next season.  Eibar come off of this match with a 3-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao, so they will look to come back to winning ways in this match.  Alaves last week held up for a 1-1 draw last week at their home ground against LAs Palmas.  They currently find themselves at 14th in La Liga with 17 points to their name, they find themselves 5 points clear of the drop zone.  A win for this game will help to push them closer to the top half of the table.

Prediction:  I see this match coming out as a draw between the sides, both teams are looking to produce a win in this match, 2-2.

Celta Vigo vs Sevilla (15:15pm)

Celta Vigo come into this match wanting to continue their unbeaten run to 3 games as they host won of La Liga’s top teams for this season, Sevilla.  Off the back of their good run Celta Vigo managed to move themselves up to 9th place in the table, with their good form they have only last 1 game in their last 6.  At 9th in the league, they find themselves with 21 points, 2 points off of Europa League spots.  Last week they drew 3-3 with Real Betis, in a high scoring face off.  On the other hands, Sevilla failed to overtake Barcelona in La Liga as they fell to a 2-1 defeat last week to Granada who found themselves bottom of the table before that match.  That loss was Sevilla’s 2nd defeat in 5 games.  Sevilla are currently third in the league with 27 points to their name, 1 point off of Barcelona who ind themselves at second in La Liga.

Prediction:  I think that this should be quite an interesting game to watch this weekend in La Liga, it should be a close match and the away team Sevilla should pick up the win.  3-2 Sevilla.

Espanyol vs Sporting Gijon (17:30pm)

Espanyol are cruising this season and currently find themselves unbeaten in their past 10 fixtures in all competitions and they will look to continue this form as they host La Liga strugglers Sporting Gijon, who currently find themselves in the relegation zone.  Since they lost to Celta Vigo back in September, Espanyol have remained undefeated.  However most of their games have ended with a draw, 6 draws to be exact, winning the other 4.  Espanyol currently find themselves at 12th in La Liga with 19 points to their name 7 points clear of the drop zone.  They come into this match off of a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid away from home last week.  Sporting Gijon on the other hand ended their 10 game winless streak last week as they defeated bottom of the table Osasuna 3-1 at their home ground.  They still find themselves in the drop zone with 12 points as the win was unfortunately not enough for them to lift them out of the drop zone.  However they are on the same amount of points as Valencia who are above the drop zone, however they are 4 points clear of 19th and 20th place in La Liga.

Prediction:  Espanyol should continue their unbeaten form in the league with this fixture with a comfortable win, 2-0 Espanyol.

Real Betis vs Athletic Bilbao (19:45pm)

Bilbao are within sights of European spots in the La Liga and will aim to move into one of these spots in their away clash against Real Betis.  Real Betis find themselves not far off of relegation places, they find themselves at 14th position in the league with 15 points, just 3 points above the drop zone.  In their previous 5 league games, they have lost 3, drawn 1 and won 1.  Last weekend they were unfortunate in their match against Celta Vigo where they threw away their lead twice as the match ended in a 3-3 draw.  Athletic Bilbao have been on good form so far this season losing only 1 game in their last 9 fixtures in all competitions and enter this game off of a 3 game unbeaten run in all competitions with two wins and one draw.  They currently find themselves in 7th in the league with 23 points, equal on points with both 5th position and 6th position and 2 points off of 2 points behind Atletico Madrid who currently find themselves in 4th position.

Prediction:  Bilbao should come out on top in this fixture despite being away from home, they are wanting to hit solidly into European places.  2-0 Bilbao.
