Watford vs Crystal Palace (12:30pm)

2 out of form sides meet in one of the first clashes of boxing day.  We firstly have a Watford side who have only yielded 1 win in their last 5 league games.  However they have enjoyed victories this season over the likes of Manchester united, Everton and last season’s champions Leicester City.  Watford currently lie in 12th place in the Premier League with 21 points to their name with 17 games gone.

Crystal Palace will be hoping for a new streak of form after they have just taken on the services of Sam Allardyce as manager, who is hoping to end their terrible defending and inconsistent performances.  Palace currently sit 1 place out of the relegation zone 17th with 15 points to their name after 17 games, they are currently 1 point above the drop zone.

Prediction:  Crystal Palace will be keen to impress their name manager and may have a new renewed outlook going into this fixture.  I could see them coming away from this match with an away win to their name which would be a great start for Sam Allardyce and an important step for his movement out of the shadows after the dreadful out comings of his position as manager of England. 1-0 Crystal Palace.

Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion (15:00pm)

Arsenal will look to give their fans the Christmas present of returning to good form after suffering back to back defeats in their previous two fixtures.  Their latest defeat occurred at the hands of Manchester City last weekend in a 2-1 loss, despite going ahead early on.  Before that they lost in midweek to out of form Everton.  Those two matches saw the end to their 14 game unbeaten run and lose ground on other sides in the race for the title this season.  They currently lie fourth in the Premier League with 34 points to their name, 1 point ahead of their arch rivals Spurs and 9 points off of league leaders Chelsea.

West Brom were defeated 2-0 last weekend by a Manchester United side who are finally starting to return to form.  That match was their second league defeat in three games and their first loss at home after going on a three game winning streak at home.  However away from home, their form is far from this and have only gained 9 points away from home in this whole.  They currently find themselves in 8th place with 23 points to their name after 17 fixtures this season.

Prediction: This match should see Arsenal return to form and get themselves back in the title race. 2-0.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth (15:00pm)

The Blues are on an 11 game unbeaten run and give no sign of stopping as they continue to mount a serious lead at the top of the table. In this match they will have to do without the services of start striker Diego Costa and midfield maestro Ngolo Kante in this game as they reached their yellow card limits in their match against Crystal Palace last weekend, will it affect them too much?  We’ll see.  Whatever the result be, Chelsea will remain top of the table with themselves being 6 points clear.

Bournemouth suffered a terrible 3-1 home defeat last weekend at the hands of Southampton, despite coming into the match defeating former champions Leicester coming into the fixture.  Bournemouth find themselves away from home in this fixture for the first time in three games and their away record this season is unfortunately not one for them to be too proud of with them winning only 1 game away from home in their last 8.  They currently sit at 10th place in the table with 21 points to their name after 17 games, they are level on points with Stoke and Watford.

Prediction: Simple, an easy win for Chelsea on boxing day to give themselves a win in one of their last games of 2016. 3-0.

Burnley vs Middlesborough (15:00pm)

Both Premier League newsboys this season and looking to keep themselves in the Premier League for another season.  Burnley currently find themselves at 16th in the Premier League with 17 points to their name, 3 points above the drop zone.  Their run as of late has not been good and have lost 5 games out of their last 6 fixtures.  Despite their poor form overall most of their points have come at home and have made themselves a strong force at Turf Moor.  16 points out of their 17 that they have achieved this season have come from home games this season and they have only been beaten at home twice this season since their opening day loss at Turf Moor to Swansea City.  The other 2 defeats there came at the hands of title chasers Manchester City and Arsenal.

Middlesborough come into this game with momentum after having beaten Swansea 3-0 at home in their last fixture having previously lost 2 consecutive games.  Middlesborough find themselves 1 point above Burnley with 18 points and they find themselves at 14th in the Premier League.  Middlesborough don’t hold good away form this season and only hold one win away from home out of the 8 away outings they had this season.  However their tactics for away games has seen them pick up points against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Leicester.

Prediction:  I see this match coming out as a draw between the two sides both find themselves at similar positions in the league and have had fairly similar form which has seen them get to where they currently are in the league this season.  1-0.

Leicester City vs Everton (15:00pm)

Leicester find themselves in slight threat of relegation and find themselves preparing to face a back to form Everton side on boxing day.  They currently find themselves at 15th in the league table, 3 points above the drop zone and have only managed 4 wins from their last 17 matches of this season, all of which have been at home, so we could expect to see a win from the in this game.  In their previous fixture they picked up a 2-2 draw against Stoke at the Britannia stadium and saw their star striker Jamie Vardy receiving a red card along with Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth reaching the limit of red cards.  Could Leicester being without these key players see them without a win at Christmas??

Everton find themselves slowly getting back to form despite a late loss last Monday to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, where they were unlucky to not achieve a point for themselves, with them controlling the game for the majority of it.  Their away form this season has seen them go 6 without a win, losing 5 of those games.

Prediction:  Everton should continue their return to form with them overcoming the Champions who are missing out on key players in this match. 1-0 Everton.

Manchester United vs Sunderland (15:00pm)

Mourinho’s men are finally starting to find their form this season with 3 consecutive wins to their name and being unbeaten since losing 4-0 to Chelsea on October 23rd.  Manchester United’s main problem before they went on their 3 game win streak was missing out on 3 points and achieving draws against teams they should be beating, such as West Ham.  United find themselves 6th in the table as we speak and is only the second time for them in Premier League history where they find themselves outside of the top five on boxing day.  The previous time being in 2014 under the management on Scotsman David Moyes.

Sunderland picked up for themselves a 1-0 win last weekend at home to improve their position in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League once again.  They see themselves as returning to form with themselves picking up 4 wins in their last 7 matches.  Could we finally start seeing a strong Sunderland side who will avoid relegation again?  We will see…

Prediction:  Although Sunderland are returning form, this should be a routine win for Mourinho’s men and we should see him pick up his first Christmas win of many during his premiership at Manchester United. 2-0 Manchester United.

Swansea City vs West Ham United (15:00pm)

Swansea come into this match having missed out on 6 points due to 2 heavy defeats way from home.  They currently find themselves in 19th place in the league with an uphill task at hand for new manager Bob Bradley.  At home this season their form has been good and Boxing Day could be their chance to pick up more points in their bid to stay up.  Their home form includes a 3-0 win over Sunderland and a thrilling 5-4 win over Crystal Palace.

West Ham are witnessing the opposite of what they saw last season and are in what I believe is terrible form, despite picking up wins, their performance in those in my opinion are not deserved of the and do not convince me that they deserve to stay in the Premier League this season.  They narrowly beat Hull and Burnely two fellow relegation candidates and really they didn’t deserve this wins.  They currently find themselves at 13th in the league with 19 points to their name, 5 points above the drop zone.

Prediction: I see a win coming from this match for Swansea as they face a poor West Ham side coming into this match with not so spectacular form. 1-0 Swansea City.

Hull City vs Manchester City (17:15pm)

The Tigers Hull City currently find themselves rock bottom of the Premier league table with 12 points to their name after 17 games so far in the league and have only managed 3 wins this season, 2 of which came at the very start of the season.  They come into this matcha after consecutive defeats where they have not picked up wins.

Manchester City come into this game having defeated Arsenal 2-1  in a thrilling clash away from home.  It was a much better performance for them as they returned to form having lost to Chelsea and Leicester City, these games certainly highlighted problems that needed to be dealt with come the January transfer window where we may see new defensive faces for them.

Prediction:  Despite being away from home, Manchester City should easily see off a Hull side who are lacking form and at risk of going down.  3-0 Manchester City
